"Calm Down Bottles"
Glitter filled sensory bottles can be used to manage emotions by providing something aesthetically pleasing to focus on. Aggression is taken out by shaking them, and breathing becomes easier as one focuses on the swirling glitter. After the children took notes on the materials and were shown how to create one in a small group, they were given materials to make their own calm down bottles. When finished, students used magnifying glasses to observe the colors of the glitter in their bottle, and created drawn models of their bottles with stamp markers and crayons. During class time when a child is having a difficult time, they are prompted to select their glitter bottle to help them calm their emotions.

Identifying Feelings
Each day the students are asked to identify how they feel. Some children are prompted to point to a feeling that matches their own, while other are asked to illustrate their own emotions. When finished children are prompted to explain why they are feeling the way they do and are asked to show the class the emotion on their face.
