Shape and Color of the Month
NOVEMBER
Below are songs that your child will sing and build upon during the entire school year
Crazy colored creatures!
To the tune of "Skip to My Lou," the lyrics for this month's color are:
"Round Brown flies through town. *Zoom!* Round Brown flies through town. *Zoom!* Round Brown flies through town. *Zoom* Crazy Colored Creatures." Here is a sample of the song being sang in it's entirety.
We use similar motions to go with the lyrics in our class. |
Shapes Song!
To the tune of "Farmer and the Dell" the lyrics for this month's shape are:
"Cut a circle in half. Cut a circle in half. You can make a semi circle, if you cut a circle in half." (Skywrite a circle and pretend to karate chop it with your hand while singing.) This video explores circles then semi circles in real life. Having your child connect the shape semi circle to the circle will help develop their conceptual understanding of its attributes.
